About Me

April, 2017 Update:

I was born in Boulder City, Nevada, only because the hospital; if you can call it that, was the closest to my parent's home at the time. I've only been there one other time since my birth, so I am comfortable saying, I am Vegas, born and raised.

My childhood consisted of two siblings who spoiled me rotten, a pack of dogs, an army of tortoises in the giant back yard, 75 acres of open desert full of lizards, horned toads, wonderful creepy crawlies, and the overwhelming urge to NEVER do what anyone told me to.

I am the daughter of an awesome woman; a mother, a grandmother, a civil rights activist/feminist, a lesbian, and all around pain in the ass to all bigots and haters of the world.

In July 2007, I had a dream. It was just random flashes of people and places that seemed familiar to me. It woke me up that night, and every night after, until I was getting no sleep at all. Each night there was more to the story growing in my head, until I was having little flashes of it when I was awake.

I turned to the one person I knew would have the answer. And, as usual, my sister had great advice. "Write it down," she said. "Get it out of your head and you'll be fine," she said. Yeah. Right.

I spent a couple of hours typing up that story. My hands hurt when I was done and, to this day, no one but I can make heads or tails of what I wrote. It worked, though. That night I slept like a baby. Little did I know that would be my last good nights sleep of my life.

Getting that one story out of my head, opened the flood gates to more. They just kept coming. I'd be in the middle of getting the basics of one down when another would scream for attention. It was a little overwhelming.

In May 2011, my spouse and I sold the house, packed up the dogs, and hit the road. We traveled through seven states in four months, just enjoying the freedom. By September, we'd settled down at a little place in La Pine, Oregon.

My first book, Falling in Love with Crazy, was published in May  2013. With This Ring, I Thee...Oh, Shit was released in July of 2014. Writers block kicked in just after my second book hit the shelves, so I took some time to just be a working class stiff.

It's 2017. The long overdue divorce should be final by the end of the year. I'm living with the most amazing woman on the planet; I have a great 'Evil Day Job' that allows me to work from home, and I'm 'alive' with the need to write again.

I have sixty-three stories, at various stages of completion, all screaming for attention. My world is full of vampires; dragons, demons, aliens, cowboys, robots, lovers,... the list goes on and on.

2017 marks the year of my return to publishing and being a more 'active' activist.

If you like my work, great. If you don't, that's cool too. Feel free to leave a comment. Say whatever you like. Trust me, I don't get offended. Pissed off? Yes. But never offended.
